The Vision

It’s so easy to look at a country and be overwhelmed by its needs. There are people living in tents; people dying of diseases caused by unclean water and malnourishment; children being sold as restaveks (child salves); and children living without their parents in their lives. It’s hard to know where to begin!

The vision of A Child’s Hope and Hope Hill is to provide a place of love and hope for the children of La Montagne. Our plan is to build a campus that includes a worship center/dining hall, school buildings to accommodate over 300 children, and small homes where orphans will live with members of our staff. Our hope for the children is that they will have their physical needs met (food, clothing, and shelter); that they will have the opportunity to attend school and that they will grow up in a loving environment with men and women of the church to disciple and train them in the ways of God.

While adoptions are needed, our greater hope is that the children in our academy will not abandon Haiti once they come of age. We hope that the children of Hope Hill will grow up to be well educated and to embrace their true identity in Christ. We want them to return to their families and villages to share the gospel and to bring permanent change to La Montagne and the nation of Haiti. I’m just one girl part of one organization; I can’t change an entire nation. But if the next generation of Haitians (the children) can be equipped to become world changers, than permanent change can come to Haiti.

Proverbs 22:6 says, Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” That is my hope; that the children of Haiti will come to know Christ in their youth and that when they grow old, they will not depart from it.
